Choosing the Safety Way

Safety is Domtar’s number one priority and our numbers are a clear indication of that priority. The operations headquarters for Domtar, located in Fort Mill, SC, just celebrated 1,000,000 hours of working safely. Many of our converting centers have celebrated many milestones of no recordable incidents or worker’s compensation claims. Safe work practices are illustrated throughout the mills, converting centers and office buildings. We operate as one company and when one part of the company suffers then the company as a whole suffers. Domtar has strong and active leadership throughout the company that empowers and encourages employees to work safely and efficiently.

Domtar has established a common safety approach across all facilities called the Domtar Safety Way. This program provides consistent practices throughout Domtar and allows for sharing of strengths and identifying weaknesses.

Domtar encourages each facility to implement health and wellness initiatives. Many Domtar locations have wellness programs in place and some locations even are designated Fit Friendly by the American Heart Association.
